GhNIC has three main operational departments:
- Technical Department
- Legal Department
- Finance & Admin Department
The Executive Director is the chief executive responsible for the day-to-day running of the registry and will represent the registry in all functions that the registry is invited to except otherwise decided by the Board.
Technical Department

The Technical department is responsible for managing the GhNIC infrastruction and also responsible for the .gh namespace. It is responsible for ensuring that all DNS service are provided using the state-of-the-art knowhow and technologies consistent with prevailing ccTLD best practice.
Legal Department

The Legal Department is responsible for all legal representation of GhNIC in Ghana and elswhere and shall be responsible for the establishment or sourcing of a Domain Resolution Dispute Service in line with the Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy. The Legal department will all draft all legal documents of the registry.
Finance & Admin Department

The Finace & Admin department is responsible for the following GhNIC activities:
- Financial & accounting activities of the registry (budgeting, etc)
- Administrative activities of the registry
- Customer care activities of the registry
The department's responsibities includes registrars ( and Membership ) administration, domain name invoicing, Credit Control, Payments and Renewals and performs the following functions:
- Dispatch of monthly invoices and statements
Receipt and allocation of inward payments including cheques, credit card and bank transfers
Credit control
Cancellations and credit note production
Processing of applications from Registrants
Registrar (Membership) applications
Upkeep of Member database
Checking with Registrants whose domain names, due for renewal that the names are not required
